I am Nikole Roquebert an artist on a journey of self-discovery through a lively palette of color. My artistic practice revolves around the intentional fusion of oil, gouache, watercolor, and acrylic—a curated blend that captures the essence of both memory and imagination. Each work of art reflects a chapter in my evolving narrative, oscillating between the realms of representation and expressionism. My focus lies in contemporary figurative art, inspired by my home country of Panamá, a vibrant country surrounded by nature and water.

The figures in my paintings embody both strength and vulnerability, usually painting them looking straight at the viewer. Through the portrayal of women, I paint a visual farewell to my former self, reflecting the dichotomy of growth and nostalgia. Each work is mirroring my evolution as a Latin woman, they embrace a heightened vibrancy, an intentional celebration that echoes the spirit of my youth and my country. Each brushstroke becomes a defiance against the passage of time, an attempt to hold onto the vivacity of my younger self. My loose brushstrokes and the colors I choose intuitively, serve as a metaphor for the fluidity of life, a reminder that even as I age, my spirit remains ever-vibrant.
